At Pawyz LLC, we believe merchants and shoppers deserve clear information about how data is used. This Privacy Policy explains what information Pawyz collects, how it is used, and, just as importantly, what we intentionally do not collect.

1. Who We Are

Pawyz LLC provides educational payment guidance for Shopify merchants and their shoppers.

Our goal is to help shoppers understand meaningful payment considerations before they decide how to pay.

Pawyz explains payment considerations. Shoppers always decide how they want to pay.

Pawyz does not recommend payment methods, process payments, or participate in payment authorization.

2. Information We Collect

Merchant Information

When a merchant installs Pawyz, we may collect information necessary to provide the service, including:

  • Shopify store domain
  • Merchant configuration settings
  • Theme placement information
  • Basic installation information
  • Operational analytics related to app usage

Shopper Interaction Information

When payment guidance is displayed, Pawyz may record limited interaction events such as:

  • Guidance displayed
  • Learn Why opened
  • General storefront context (for example, Product Page or Cart Page)
  • Purchase characteristics used to generate guidance
  • Anonymous engagement metrics

Purchase characteristics may include information such as product type, purchase amount, merchant payment capabilities, and current Pawyz configuration.

Pawyz does not use shopper identity, payment history, payment credentials, or financial account information to generate guidance.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

Pawyz is intentionally designed to avoid collecting sensitive financial information.

Pawyz does not collect or access:

  • Credit card numbers
  • Debit card numbers
  • Bank account information
  • Payment credentials
  • Credit scores
  • Shopper financial accounts
  • Identity verification information
  • Payment authorization information

Pawyz does not link to shopper financial accounts.

4. Privacy by Design

Privacy is a core design principle of Pawyz.

Rather than relying on shopper financial accounts or payment credentials, Pawyz generates educational guidance using merchant storefront configuration, purchase characteristics, and anonymous interaction events.

We believe shoppers can benefit from meaningful payment guidance without requiring access to sensitive financial information.

Pawyz does not track shoppers across websites or browsing sessions, and does not build behavioral profiles of individual shoppers.

5. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Deliver payment guidance
  • Improve Pawyz functionality
  • Help merchants understand shopper engagement
  • Maintain the security and reliability of the service
  • Respond to merchant support requests

Pawyz LLC does not sell personal information.

6. Shopify Data

Pawyz receives limited information through Shopify APIs as authorized by merchants during installation.

This information is used solely to operate the app and provide payment guidance within the merchant's storefront.

7. Analytics

Pawyz may collect anonymous operational metrics, including:

  • Guidance views
  • Learn Why opens
  • Placement verification
  • Store configuration
  • General feature usage

These metrics help improve the service and provide merchants with guidance activity reporting.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to help protect the information we collect.

While no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, Pawyz LLC continually works to protect merchant information.

9. Data Retention

Merchant configuration information is retained while Pawyz is installed for a merchant's store.

Operational analytics and anonymous interaction events are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, and support the Pawyz service.

When a merchant uninstalls Pawyz, merchant configuration data is deleted, and associated interaction information is deleted or anonymized in accordance with our standard data retention practices, unless we are required to retain information for legal or operational purposes.

10. Third-Party Services

Pawyz operates within Shopify and may rely on trusted infrastructure providers to host and operate the service.

These providers process information only as necessary to deliver the Pawyz service.

11. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights regarding personal information under applicable California privacy laws, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that Pawyz LLC maintains about you, subject to applicable legal exceptions.
